Tour Virtual San Angelo

For those who haven't been to San Angelo recently- (maybe not since 1954) - and are curious to see what the present San Angelo looks like- 

Take a virtual tour of San Angelo from wherever you are!

Google has placed 'on line' street level views for every address in San Angelo.   It is the goal of Google to map and survey every location in the United States in a similar manner.  This is an enormous project, which requires their driving, going down and filming every street in the town.   I am not sure how it is that San Angelo in West Texas was completed before many other larger cities elsewhere, but it was.

All you need to do is ;  

                                               Go to http://www.maps.google.com    ,   Type in the full address of interest in the search field, 

                                                                                                                           (as an example 248 N. Oakes, San Angelo, Texas) and press

                                                                                                                         the  "search maps" button.  You will see open a map with your

                                                                                                                          chosen location marked with a marker.  Click on that marker, and

                                                                                                                           then below the little photo that opens, click on 'street view.'

You will be immediately taken to a street level view, and it will appear just as if you were in a car driving by!  You can then use the direction controls on the screen to turn around, back up, turn left, go forward, and generally go where you wish in this manner.
