AFTERGLOW

 

It has been a month since the Golden Plus Five Reunion took place and scenes from it still dance in and out of my daily thoughts.  I know that many of you are experiencing the same thing.  Wasn’t it good to see renew old friendships and make new friends of the ones who had been only  acquaintances? 

 

Saturday noon we had a wonderful time eating and visiting and laughing with Rosann Rosanna Danna (Dot Bollinger).  Many thanks go to Dot for engineering the whole program.  She really spent some time putting it together and she did a great job!  We really enjoyed it.  It was good to catch up on how our classmates had spent the last 55 years.  And we discovered that we have done some amazing things and had lots of great experiences during that time!

 

Saturday nite we were privileged to hear the music of Coy (Moses) and Roy (Scott) and enjoyed the food and visiting at the San Angelo County Club.  And quite a few of us proved we hadn’t stopped moving on the dance floor! 

 

You know I think there is a special bond or camaraderie among the class of 54 that has become stronger through the years.  And that bond was most evident in the Sunday morning service at The Cowboy Church that Terry Gayle serves as pastor.  You who missed it missed a moving experience of music, personal testimonies and a cowboy sermon.  Oh, yes, and that morning there were two longhorns (the animal kind) there to greet us!  I bet most of you probably had never been to a church like that!

 

The reunion committee has agreed to get together every six months to keep in touch with what is happening within our class and to make plans for the next get together.  Would you please help us make plans by completing the enclosed evaluation and giving us your suggestions for any changes or additions for the next time we gather?  We tried to find the best venues for our events at reasonable prices, but we would like to hear your ideas for improving it next time.  Thank you,
